Update on the hand pies

Ignore the recipe I posted before...
I made them with this one:

Except, I didn't use jam.. instead I thawed frozen blueberries in a saucepan with sugar.. (just keep adding sugar until you think it tastes good). Once the blueberries thawed, I drained the juice from it (and made kisel from it).

You guys should go try this :)

Meanwhile back at the kitchen..

Blueberry Hand Pies

Recently I had a blueberry hand pie from Olympic Provisions (which is an amazing place right next to our studio) and ever since I have been dying to make this deliciousness on my own.
Hopefully this recipe I found will live up to its name.

Ya'll are invited for some blueberry pies if they turn out good :)

In need of solitude

Taylor shared this quote.. Well I don't know if something this long is still called a quote... Nonetheless, it is something very important to remember.
I have been so busy lately and my closet prayers keep getting cut shorter and shorter.. getting almost completely out of the picture..
I hate that I always cut the important things in life. I know I do it because the consequences are not immediately visible.. but I know they are there.. I can feel them now.

Listen to some words of wisdom from Spurgeon...

"There are times when solitude is better than society, and silence is wiser than speech. We should be better Christians if we were more alone, waiting upon God, and gathering through meditation on His Word spiritual strength for labour in his service. We ought to muse upon the things of God, because we thus get the real nutriment out of them. . . . Why is it that some Christians, although they hear many sermons, make but slow advances in the divine life? Because they neglect their closets, and do not thoughtfully meditate on God's Word. They love the wheat, but they do not grind it; they would have the corn, but they will not go forth into the fields to gather it; the fruit hangs upon the tree, but they will not pluck it; the water flows at their feet, but they will not stoop to drink it. From such folly deliver us, O Lord. . . ."

I returned from kids camp yesterday and I gotta say I was quite encouraged to be there..
This years camp felt so much different than the years before and God was definitely doing His work there.
The camp was called "In Trouble" and the topic was the gospel..
at first thought, many people think this topic is too serious for the kids.. they think that they are too young to hear about Gods wrath.
They are not too young... This world bombards them with serious temptations all the time.
They are old enough to hear this.. and they must hear this.

Although I did not get too much time to spend talking to the kids.. I saw that God really was working and they were understanding reality

I pray that God will continue His good work and they will come to submit themselves to the Almighty and Good God.

After a play we did we asked the kids what they learned from it and here is what one boy shared... Thought it was too cute not to share :)

"no matter how cool and fun stuff sounds.. nothing is better than Jesus stuff"

Oh and you can download the song "Lazy Bones" for free on their website
