Just Ask.

"Oh, prayerless man, who and what are you that you will not ask anything of God? Have you made a covenant with death and hell? Are you at peace with the maggot and the fire? Have you no sins to be pardoned? Have you no fear of eternal torment? Have you no desire after heaven?Oh, that you would awake from your present folly! Oh, if only you would consider the coming end of your life! Oh, that you would rise up and call upon God! Yes, there is a day coming when men will pray loudly, 'Lord, Lord, let us in,' but all will be too late; when many will cry to the rocks to fall on them, and the hills to cover them, who would never cry to God. In all affection I warn you. Beware lest this be the end for your soul. Salvation is very near you. Do not lose heaven because you failed to ask." -J.C. Ryle

If you are in this position,
I pray for you.
Accept grace while it still exists.

God will return to judge.

grace vs. guilt

Grace is a much stronger motivation than guilt.
I fail so much in my life and I desire to change so many things.
Yet, so many times those changes don't come..
I was just reading over some of my super old chats.. (they can be pretty funny.. you guys should try it) and i read something very encouraging someone said to me once and it applies to me now once more.
It was the reminder that when I am guilt-motivated I will not get far, but when I am motivated by grace and the love of Jesus- that is what can sustain me and change me for real.
Be blessed.

dont complain.

The Almighty.

I wish I could always see Christ this way:

" I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, "Come, assemble for the great supper of God,so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great." And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.

And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which came from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh." Revelation 19:11-21

I make God so small so often.
I don't see Him as the King returning in His glory.
Often I forget that He still rules the universe.
And I forget that He rules my life.
I am prone to think that the people in this world are so big,
and I start to think that God is weak.
My Christianity becomes weak
and I become ashamed to speak up about Christ
but..
"He's not a baby in the manger no more
He's not a broken man on the cross
He didn't stay in the grave
and He's not staying in heaven forever..."

God is in control.
He is Almighty.
He is God.
and I resolve to not rob Him of His glory in my view of Him.

Cherry Closet.

Ran across a blog today that led me to this website.
I only wish I was brave enough to wear the stuff on there..
nonetheless, it has some lovely things such as...
this dusky pink pill box hator this lovely lace blouse
and especially this lacy parasol

I wonder.

Did Adam and Eve ever forget anything?
People never forget any information they encounter.
The connection is made in the brain, we just often have a hard time remembering the information-but it is still there.
Since after the fall of man sin, death and decay entered our bodies and the 2nd law of thermodynamics came into being, could we say that failing to remember is a result of sin (the fall)? So did Adam and Eve never forget anything?
Interesting thought.. not sure of the answer..

rethink

I always thought there was no point of trying to make this world better.
I thought it was so messed up that nothing we could say or do would make a difference.
Although its true in one sense, it will keep getting worse until Christ comes..
But we can make a difference... I know that sounded really cheesy..
As I was driving back from Seattle, I saw one of those big Christian billboards..
I think you guys know what I am talking about..
It said something like "Jesus is saving sinners"
Seeing something Christian out in this world shocked me at first,
but its so encouraging.. and its what made me think about all this.
I think its important for us Christians to stand up for what we believe in
we need to get involved in school, work, etc.
We tend to, well at least I do, just ignore everything that is happening.
I don't even get shocked anymore when I hear outrageous news of some sin being allowed in this world
But the reason laws are being passed and such liberal people
are in position over us is because we did not do anything to prevent it
I know we cannot "Christianize" the nation..
But we can make it more bearable for the church to survive.

The next Christian generation will have to suffer because of out shortcomings
What will people 100 years from now have to say about the church in 2010
Will they have something to look back on in church history?
We "stand on the shoulders of giants" and we must too be the "giants" for the future generations

That was one of the thoughts I walked away from camp with.
I felt very ashamed at my Christianity when I looked at the saints in history.
They did not care to "be cool" or fit in.. Instead they sought to stick out from the rest
Seems like churches today care so much for being relative and attractive and fresh
that they have blended right in with the world

I'm very excited now to head back to college with a desire to not fit in
to show that I belong to a kingdom that is not of this world.
I pray that God would work in us
That He would give us the right mindsets,
that we would see eternal things
that we would look to the future generations of Christians
and that we would keep Christ and His Word as our standard for Christianity and not the Christians around us

Not sure if anyone will actually read this to the end..
If you did.. thanks and God bless!

The Last Sin Eater

Couple girls came over last night and we watched "The Last Sin Eater"..

I know, sounds like a weird movie.. but its one of those rare movies that are completely gospel centered and you can actually be edified through it... Even if it has some cheesy scenes...

Although I've seen it before, I was amazed once more at the gospel.

In the movie there is a girl, Cadi Forbes, who is troubled with the guilt of her sin and it trying to find forgiveness.

The movie takes place in a little village formed by immigrants from Whales.

The people in the village have invented their own religion by which they attempt to comfort themselves in death. They appointed a "sin eater" who would take upon himself their sins.

But as we all know, our great sin can only be removed in Christ Jesus. The girl sees that this will not forgive her sins and she searches for the real truth....

I don't want to ruin the ending or anything.. but its a very God-centered movie..

I can let you guys borrow the movie if anyone wants to...

Oh and they all have pretty cool welsh accents :)
