Sooo it has been more than a month since my last post.
I know this is getting pretty pathetic,
I promise new things are on their way :)
Meanwhile, I just put this together for my art appreciation class
We had to recreate something significant that happened in our life using iconography
Of course my conversion is the most significant thing that happened to me

Spiritual Disciplines

This book has really been hitting home for me. I am passionate for Jesus but without the spiritual disciplines I cannot keep that passion always burning. The following was especially helpful from the book:

       So many professing Christian are so spiritually undisciplined that they seem to have little fruit and power in their lives. I've seen men and women who discipline themselves very little "for the purpose of godliness." I've seen Christians who are faithful to the church of God, who frequently demonstrate genuine enthusiasm for the things of God, and who dearly love the Word of God, trivialize their effectiveness for the Kingdom of God through lack of discipline. Spiritually they are a mile wide and an inch deep. There are no deep, time-worn channels of communing discipline between them and God. They have dabbled in everything but disciplined themselves in nothing.
       Consider the people who will work hard at learning to play an instrument, knowing that it takes years to acquire the skills, who will practice hard to lower their golf score or to improve their sports performance, knowing it takes years to become proficient, who will discipline themselves throughout their career because they know it takes sacrifice to succeed. These same people will give up quickly when they find the Spiritual Disciplines don't come easily, as though becoming like Jesus was not supposed to take much effort.
       The undisciplined are like the playwright George Kaufman, who was enduring a sales pitch from a gold-mine promoter. The salesman was praising the productivity of the mine in hopes of persuading Kaufman to buy shares in it. "Why, it's so rich you can pick up the chunks of gold from the ground."
       "Do you mean," asked Kaufman, "I'd have to bend over?"
       The gold of Godliness isn't found on the surface of Christianity. It has to be dug from the depths with the tools of the Disciplines. But for those who persevere, the treasures are more than worth the troubles.

Brought out my sketch pad finally once again
I miss doodling
and I really need a scanner
(my half birthday is coming up.. hint hint)
Grace Love Joy Peace Comfort

If we think about it,
these words should all be foreign to us.
For 13 years I rebelled against the Almighty.

He created me to worship Him
yet I turned away and worshiped self
and created things rather than the Creator.

Being Absolute Holiness, He cannot stand one ounce of sin.
Yet, here I am in sweet fellowship with Him.

I cannot believe how crazy it is that this is true
He made a way to reconcile to to Himself!
He softened my heart of stone!
He made my blind eyes see!

I have no idea.
I know it is not for reasons within me.

I should have been justly punished.
Yet, I now experience blessings
because Jesus Christ became a curse on my behalf.

Dear Christian,
I hope this thought always brings you to tears
and to more godly living.

May we live at the foot of the cross
And may His precious blood,
the blood of the unblemished Lamb
cause us to deny all forms of ungodliness
and live for Him
Live Him

Day 41

Finnallly another post
Sorry guys, I promise I'll try to do this more often.
I've been working on a little gig for a clothing line so thats been pretty exciting
I'll put up some of those designs once they're done.
I've also finally decided that I'm going to go to psu next fall instead of Ai
What a good choice! Thanks Artem for letting me know about their design program
seriously, life-saver
I also got featured on Blossoming Branches!
Haha, had to mention that Alla ;)

Have a lovely weekend!

Day 40

finally, another post :)
words from Kye Kye
cant stop listening to them
Day 40

I also got a tumblr recently so feel free to follow if you wish
I felt that I was posting to facebook a little too much but on there I can go all out :)

I told some of you about that tree I found outside that I wanted to use for my room decor..
Well, it was a little too big so we tore the branches off and put them in a vase
It looks pretty cool  but I'm a little worried..
Have any of you done this before? I'm scared of the moss and other stuff growing on there
Could it be bad for us? It doesn't seem to have too many bugs or anything on it so it should be alright
but I did hear a horror story of how one woman collected a vase of acorns
and after a couple days she found it full of maggots

Have you guys seen max's Israel and engagement story yet? Check it out :)

Day 35

Day 35

Didn't really turn out like I would have liked it to but maybe I'll just fix it later.
This song has been stuck in my head after Paul sang it on Sunday.
. . .

Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

Picked up my painting today :)
I think it'll make a great addition to my room, although some people find it creepy.
I can't believe how fast spring break is flying by!
There's so much to do each day that I don't even notice how fast life is
I really need to start thinking more about what I will do next year with school and all

Day 34

So I missed yesterday as well, but I promise that really was unintentional
I spontaneously slept over at my sisters apartment, which was kinda weird since she has a husband
But it wasn't too bad :) Got to hang out with Yana a little more
We were choosing colors to paint their wall, which hopefully turned out alright

Today's design is inspired by something Vitaliy Rozhko said in one of his sermons

Day 34

Day 33

So I made another Psalms design for today
and as I was going to save the file, Photoshop shut down and I lost everything =/
I did make something cool, you guys just can't see it unfortunately.

Day 32

I know I didn't have my msced for last Friday
but todays design took twice as long so I don't feel so bad..
I could not make up my mind between these two
even though I know they're almost the same
Let's have a vote, which one should stay?

Day 31

Day 31

Psalm 8

The LORD'S Glory and Man's Dignity.
For the choir director; on the Gittith. A Psalm of David.
1O LORD, our Lord,

         How majestic is Your name in all the earth,
         Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!
    2From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength
         Because of Your adversaries,
         To make the enemy and the revengeful cease.
    3When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
         The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;
    4What is man that You take thought of him,
         And the son of man that You care for him?
    5Yet You have made him a little lower than God,
         And You crown him with glory and majesty!
    6You make him to rule over the works of Your hands;
         You have put all things under his feet,
    7All sheep and oxen,
         And also the beasts of the field,
    8The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea,
         Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
    9O LORD, our Lord,
         How majestic is Your name in all the earth!

Day 30

Day 30

Psalm 19

1The heavens are telling of the glory of God;

         And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.

    2Day to day pours forth speech,
         And night to night reveals knowledge.
    3There is no speech, nor are there words;
         Their voice is not heard.
    4Their line has gone out through all the earth,
         And their utterances to the end of the world
         In them He has placed a tent for the sun,
    5Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
         It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
    6Its rising is from one end of the heavens,
         And its circuit to the other end of them;
         And there is nothing hidden from its heat.
    7The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul;
         The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
    8The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
         The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
    9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
         The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether.
    10They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold;
         Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
    11Moreover, by them Your servant is warned;
         In keeping them there is great reward.
    12Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.
    13Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins;
         Let them not rule over me;
         Then I will be blameless,
         And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.
    14Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
         Be acceptable in Your sight,
         O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.

Day 29

So I couldn't make something cool today because I was busy painting,
I think its a legitimate enough excuse since I really was making something cool
Its unbelievable how long this painting is taking

Meanwhile back at the kitchen..

I really should be writing my paper....

About three out of five of the world’s people live in Asia, yet only three percent of Asians and less than one percent of Japanese are Christians.

Pray for Japan.

Meanwhile back at the kitchen..

Cooked up myself some bacon-wrapped JalapeƱo Poppers today after stumbling upon a new awesome cooking blog :)
They were quite delicious, although I do regret partially pitting the jalapeƱos, they were missing that extra kick.
Nonetheless, look how delicious they are!
Next up, Sausages and Peppers and Pasta and Parmsan and Red Velvet cupcakes of course!
In the meantime, you guys should definitely cook up some yummy dishes from there as well
enjoy :)

Day 19

I visited my grandparents the other day, and while we were waiting for the pelemeni to be done
they decided to show me their photo albums with their wedding photos and photos of their parents
I cant believe I haven't seen it before! Maybe I have and just don't remember
Anyhow, they let me take one of their photo albums home.
I was so intrigued by my great grandfather that I had to take it and scan some photos in.
I will try to put them up tomorrow so stay posted :)
I love old photographs!
If you haven't seen the ones I posted of my dad earlier then you should check them out

I'm also contemplating whether or not to start a "take something cool every weekend" project
My camera has been feeling pretty lonely lately :(
Although the photo of the deer in this design I took fairly recently.

Day 19\
Yes, B is for Bambi too
